Oven/Stove

There is a switch on the wall above the stove. This must be switched on to operate the stove and oven. The island power supply is less reliable than the mainland so to avoid surges, this should be left off when not in use.

BBQ

The gas supply must be turned on and turned off after each use. If the gas runs out, please swap the bottle down at Bobs shop and Alex or Gav will fix you up.

Fridge

Food will be left in the fridge and pantry by Gavin and Alex to cover their trips. In general, these will only be long life food types and relatively limited.

Cleaning

We expect the house to be left in the same condition it was found. Cleaning products, vacuum cleaners, mops etc can be found in the cupboard next opposite the upstairs bathroom.

Deck Covers and Cushions

The deck does have weather protection shades which will need to be unzipped and rolled up when you arrive. Please ensure that the shades are rolled and zipped down before you leave. The cushions for the outside furniture should also be left in the sun room when you leave. Be careful when unzipping the shades as they are a little tricky to get started if there has been a significant quantity of salt spray since the last use.

Keys

The cluster of keys opens the variety of locks around the house. The easiest is to initially open the sliding door adjacent to the car port with the key with a blue tape stuck to it.

Deck Doors

The doors to the deck can be operated by key but we recommend opening from the inside and carefully “sliding” back into the lock from inside. There is no need to force this operation. If it needs to be forced, start again until the lock engages.

What to Bring

We ask that you bring your own linen
(ie sheets, towels, pillow cases, covers).

Hot Water

The outside furniture hot water system is left on and is a large system so hot water will available straight away. Be careful when using if you are use to a gas system.

TV/DVD Player

The TV has a built in DVD player. It can be found on the side of the unit. The input switch on the remote can be used for selecting the DVD player.

Lock up and Beach Gear

The key should include a small key to unlock the stores cabinet at the garage. Please feel free to use any of the beach gear equipment (umbrella, boogy boards, beach chairs, balls, games) in the lockup.
